  95.         well it sounds like a good idea.. but if it's zoist exclusive, at  
  96. least at first, you may as well automate it to keep it as up to date as  
  97. possible.. 
  98.         there's an external bbs door (don't know many details) which lets  
  99. you set up a hypercard like environment, ie an expert system which can be  
  100. consulted actively (like an encyclopaedia), passively (by producing computer  
  101. collated reports of the extent of the information it has been given [in the  
  102. form of paragraphs, articles, etc]), or interactively as a true(sortof)  
  103. expert system (much like a realy good relational database).. 
  104. the advantages are that it's easily updateable, thus allways current  
  105. (information is modular and thus automaticly linked via specified keywords  
  106. to the rest of the information-base), it's automatic, and thus quick(so  
  107. users can look up explainations of buzzwords etc when they notice them in a  
  108. piece of mail, and can then go on to ask for cross references should they  
  109. need more information), and that the information can be distributed to other  
  110. bbs's or offline users via a downloadable/printed copy of it's automaticly  
  111. alphabetized and indexed "infiormation dumps".. 
  112.         ok so i'm not that much into the software that i know where to get  
  113. this or how much hasstle it's going to be, but i do kno that i've heard of a  
  114. system like this running as a door on an IBM pc based bbs.. it's an idea!!

  134. good idea. Would you have any more information on this door, where I could  
  135. find a copy, which BBS it was on, etc...

  138. (sysop). Thanks again, I'll try and track this down myself but any

  261.         The frequency you have given in on the CB Band not the ham  
  262. bands.   I have no news of this.    There was a Ham group in NSW ran  
  263. by Sam Voron VK2BVS.   I wrote to Sam and received a reply but it did  
  264. not say anything about the UFO group so I was left without an answer.  
  265. There is some interest at putting UFO related material on the packet  
  266. BBS' but the regulations make it that we cannot have a gateway.

  301. ANYTHING to do with UFO's is to be disregarded. You realise that even if you  
  302. saw one first hand the chances are that your own family would not believe

  304. the population wouldn't believe one existed even if one landed in front of

  334. Unbelievable as it maybe, this seems to be the case! Incredible isn't it,  
  335. your own family probably wont believe you! Which reminds me I just finished  
  336. watching a preview of Communion on Video. Yes, it is the movie of the book  
  337. by Whitley Streiber. Boy did they stuff it up or what, the movie is so  
  338. Weird! It's so much stranger than the book it's unbelievable, everyone is  
  339. going to treat the UFO phenomena with even less respect after watching this  
  340. movie!

  368. area, so its at least a 40 minute drive (If I had a car and a license!)

  483. Thanks Bob, I thought it was too high a frequency for Ham radio. It  
  484. would be borderline high for an International net, I think, probably  
  485. only work in less usual ionospheric propagation conditions. I'll get  
  486. back to this guy with your info.

  623. I'm not very good with astronomy news, but for some reason the article I  
  624. lifted the information from, concludes that this is the first. I have a  
  625. feeling that it is not proven yet, so until then, it's just another theory.  
  626. Fred Van de Kamp may have theorized he found planets, and maybe he has not  
  627. been proven wrong or right, so it stands on it's own merit depending on the  
  628. viewpoint. In other words, it's possible he did.

  630. How about 4.1 billion year old rocks, and people still claim that the planet  
  631. is under 5000 years old? (I know, lets not continue this, it's just a point.)

  649. I'm still very suspicious about the crop circles validity. In aprox. the  
  650. last year they have gone from swirls and circles to pictographs. The lab that  
  651. says there is crystaline change, is some fringe nutritional group. The main  
  652. proponents are authors and publicity seekers. I won't say they are all hoaxes  
  653. and silliness, but something is still very fishy not to mention the newest  
  654. pictures.

  656. Now it's getting to the point of how many are hoaxed and then what about the  
  657. rest that have not been proven hoaxes? I don't think many people are even  
  658. interested in proving they are not real mysterys, but the supporters are  
  659. lobbying awfully hard to validate these as paranormal, UFO related, or  
  660. otherwise.

  662. I remember very clearly that one year ago, the number of crops circles that  
  663. had associated lights or UFO connections was very small. 
  664. Now we have almost all connected with lights and UFO's. Something is very  
  665. wrong.

  667. If you remember Crop Circles were almost a non-topic last year, and  
  668. considered not UFO related. (of course for us Paranet folks it still fits  
  669. either way fortunatly)  While this is not directed at you, I see that you are  
  670. more current with related information. Any ideas on why things are changing,  
  671. or what's going on here? Sudden change of the phenomenon, characteristics,  
  672. results and perceptions is suspect.

  696. After all, draining of blood and removal of vital organs

  723. (whatever's in flares) fell on cars, and he mentioned that a few  
  724. other incidents were found to be probably flares. He also mentioned  
  725. that a guy with a lighted kite was caught. But, lest anyone get the  
  726. wrong idea, he was saying that *some* of the redlight sightings were  
  727. flares; a minority, not all.

  751.   It appears that in the case of parachute flares, they drift with the  
  752. wind, descend, and eventually just plain go out. 
  753.   In the case of "real" redlights, they appear to have certain  
  754. different characteristics. They have been seen to hold still, not  
  755. drifting or descending, and have been seen to move upwind. Another  
  756. characteristic is that there's a steady red light, then a bright white  
  757. flash, then darkness. 
  758.   I suspect, although I can't confirm it, that the "real" redlights  
  759. are at a much greater altitude than flares could be fired from the  
  760. ground. Of course a flare could be dropped from an airplane, but the  
  761. airplane would most likely be seen and heard.
